As a sales channel, Mozambique was consistently missing sales targets with their distributors. A strategic decision was made to align Mozambique with other regions and to create a sales drive over their peak periods to push up revenues. Distell contracted Tangerine to provide a managed sales team, taking on their existing staff and providing fresh blood to the team. Within the first month, there was an increase in sales activity. Sales were delivered directly to the distributor and the team was monitored via Salespod, our automated sales tracking application. December 2013 saw their highest ever sales figures with the distributors recording a 400% year on year increase in revenue. During this time, Tangerine successfully developed a previously untapped channel (restaurants, bars and nightclubs) along with the better known bottle store channel. We also ran a full-time sales operation, promoting and selling Hunters from our promotional vehicle, which we located at busy markets and the beach.
